The new Surface Conditioner Vario SC pressure maintainer achieves a significant improvement in the surface area of lithium disilicate pressed ceramics. The surface concavities that form during the cooling phase, caused by the contraction of the ceramic material, often require a firing cycle to compensate for the dimensional loss. During this delicate solidification phase, Vario SC prevents back-pressure of the pressed parts and thus avoids bad surface quality especially in the marginal area, which is normally thinner. A simple but effective tool The Surface Conditioner Vario SC pressure maintainer works during the cooling phase to improve the lithium disilicate: the pressure exerted by this accessory prevents the jagged closing edges. A fan is located at the base of the Vario SC to ensure controlled cooling of the cylinder. The weight adjustment is freely selectable for the various cylinders (100, 200 and 300 grams) and facilitates the transition of the ceramic to the solid state under optimal conditions.
