ALFESS™ is intended to improve gait when foot drop and diminished foot and toe clearance are present. It assists the nerves of tibialis anterior to actively dorsiflex the foot. The device is applied to the upper part of the lower leg. During walking, sensors identify speed and angles of the leg to adapt to the walking pattern. An algorithm processes the information and sends out electrical impulses to the nerves to lift the forefoot. The user can easily increase or decrease the stimulation level at any time.
The unit has a sleek, conforming shape and works well for bilateral use. Thanks to magnetic clasp and unique controls, the unit can be operated with one hand!
The training mode assists in achieving the best rehabilitation result. Training can be done either with the patient's clinician or the patient can do training independently after being provided with clear instructions.
The unit is easy to handle and charge. Control settings on the device, with remote control provided, or via Smart Phone App.
