The Strep Tactin beads based on superparamagnetic beads are designed for rapid and efficient separation Strep(II)-tag protein. The Strep-tag is a synthetic peptide consisting of eight amino acids (Trp-Ser-His-Pro-Gln-Phe-Glu-Lys). Generally, it does not interfere with folding or bioactivity. Thus, there is no need for removing the tag. Strep-tagged proteins can be isolated in one step from crude cell lysates. Because the Strep-tag elutes under gentle, physiological conditions it is especially suited for generation of functional proteins. The proteins obtained are bioactive and display a very high purity (above 99%).
