Oxicel Fibril forms a pyhsical barrier which blocks blood flow while providing a large surface area for the rapid formation of a fibrin clot. Oxicel Fibril Absorbable Hemostat (Oxidized Regenerated Cellulose) is used adjunctively in surgical procedures to assist in the control of capillary, venous and small arterial hemorrage when ligation or other conventional methods of control are impractical or ineffective. Safe, plant-based and fully absorbable within 7-14 days. Soft, layered material conforms and “melts in” to bleeding tissue until removing. Lightweight layers and tufts – peel off as little or as much as desired.Can be used in any size, shape, or thickness-as needed for specific application. More effective hemostasis vs. Oxicel Standard Oxicel Fibril Absorbable Hemostat exhibits bacteriostatic and bactericidal properties with the effect on growth and multiplication of gram (+) and gram (-) organisms including aerobic, anaerobic bacteria (MRSA, VRE, PRSP and MRSE) show resistant to antibiotics. Oxicel Fibril meets all the requirements established by the USP for Oxidized Regenerated Cellulose.
