Description

This reagent is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of Direct Bilirubin in human serum. METHODOLOGY Most methods currently used for assaying bilirubin are based on the reaction between bilirubin and diazotized sulphanilic acid solutions. In aqueous solution only the direct(conjugated) bilirubin will react in this manner. This Direct Bilirubin method uses an acid diazo method. Conjugated bilirubin reacts with diazotized sulphanilic acid to produce an acid azobilirubin, the absorbance of which is proportional to the concentration of direct bilirubin in the sample and can be measured at 550 nm. Precautions: 1. This reagent is for in vitro diagnostic use only. Bilirubin Direct Reagent 1: H314 Causes severe skin burns and serious eye damage. P303+P361+P353 IF ON SKIN:Remove/take off immediately all contaminated clothing.Rinse skin with water/shower P304+P340 IF INHALED: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. P305+P351+P338 IF IN EYES :Rinse continuously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do . Continue rinsing Wear suitable protective equipments Bilirubin Direct Reagent 2 contains Sodium Nitrite.Harmful if swallowed. If swallowed get medical advice/attention. REAGENT PREPARATION All the reagents are ready to use. REAGENT DETERIORATION Do not use the reagent if: 1. Presence of particles and turbidity. 2. Colour development in R2. INTERFERENCE A comprehensive list of drugs and substances which may interfere with the Direct Bilirubin assay. Lipemia: No interference in the presence of triglycerides up to 1500 mg/dL.
