The use of interchangeable articulators facilitates the work between the dental office and lab once the dentist is no longer required to send the articulator to the lab and vice-versa. In other words, it is just necessary to send the plaster cast since it fits perfectly in the standardized articulator, maintaining the initial assembling relation and alignment between the casts and articulator.
The standardization system does not make any difference in the assembly procedures, ie to work with a standardized articulator the dentist and the prosthetist will not alter your work technique at all. The standardized articulator carries a "compensating disc" glued to the lower limb which is responsible for eliminating any difference of measures that the articulator may have.
Standardization is an optional item, meaning you should buy the articulator and say you would like it to come standardized.
Attention:
• The articulator model 4000-S can not be standardized;
• Magnetic mounting plates should not be used on standard articulators as they may cause spatial dimensions to diverge.
