BIOSHORT sutures are indicated for the approximation and/or ligation of soft tissue in general, vessels and fascia. They can be used in gastrointestinal, plastic and reconstructive surgery, urology, gynecology and obstetrics. It is not indicated for use in cardiovascular tissue, central nervous system, microsurgery and ophthalmic surgery.

Molecule
Copolymer composed of 75% Glycolide and 25% ε-caprolactone (PGA-PCL).
COLORED tensile strength : 70% after one week; 40% at two weeks; 12% at three weeks; 3% at four weeks.
NOT COLORED: 80% after one week; 40% at two weeks; 15% at three weeks; 4% at four weeks.
Absorption
Occurs via hydrolysis and is complete in approximately 90 to 110 days.
