BIOCRYL Rapid is indicated for soft tissue approximation where only short-term wound support is required and rapid suture absorption is preferred. Thanks to their rapid absorption, BIOCRYL Rapid sutures can be used to heal skin wounds in pediatric surgery, episiotomies, circumcisions and oral mucosa wounds. BIOCRYL Rapid sutures can be used successfully in ophthalmic surgery.
short-term absorbable multifilament;
high tensile strength;
smooth passage of the fabric;
minimized tissue trauma;
perfect node security;
Type of coating
Polyglactin 370 and calcium stearate
Molecule
Copolymer of 90% Glycolic Acid and 10% Lactic Acid (Polyglactin 910)
In vivo tensile strength
BIOCRYL Rapid sutures, one week after implantation, maintain approximately 36% for USP 2/0 and 42% for USP 5/0 of their breaking strength. After 9 days the BSR is approximately 30% for USP 2/0 and 13% for USP 5/0. Two weeks after implantation, the breaking strength is 0%.
