BIOTEX is indicated for soft tissue approximation and/or ligation including cardiovascular, oral, general surgery and dura mater repair . The BIOTEX suture thread is also indicated for the repair or replacement of tendon cords. Due to its characteristics, it is recommended in cases where it is important to reduce bleeding from the suture line and reduce haemostasis times.
Porous microstructure of the thread which allows a rapid fixation of the fabrics.
Reduced friction with fabrics.
Extremely manageable, smooth and easy to execute knots.
Excellent knot maintenance security.
Constant tensile strength over time.
Chemically inert.
Coating Type
Uncoated
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) molecule
In vivo tensile strength
BIOTEX does not show a significant loss of strength over time
Absorption
Not absorbable
Tissue reaction
Minimal initial inflammatory reaction in the tissues followed by progressive encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective tissue
