Clinical results from total hip replacement (THR) have led to the request for implants which can address hip problems in smaller animals. The CFX Micro Hip system was developed to provide THR as the primary recommendation for very small dog breeds and adult cats by restoring improved function over femoral head ostectomy (FHO). CFX Nano Hip BioMedtrix introduced the CFX Nano Hip system in 2010 to provide even smaller implants for cats and dogs which generally weigh less than 10 pounds.
