TruGuard also removes the issues caused by pitching even if there is patient weight variance. Problem: Backscatter caused by radiation hitting dental work can result in damage to healthy oral tissues. Patients are also often fitted with an awkward “homemade” device or sent to a prosthodontist which can be costly and time consuming. Solution: TruGuard helps to protect the oral cavity from backscatter radiation by sparing surrounding soft tissue and it eliminates the need for an expensive prosthodontic while producing a consistent, reliable setup. TruGuard offers a customizable dental tray to match patient anatomy while indexing to the mask for stability. Result: TruGuard protects healthy, soft tissue and indexes both the top and bottom jaws of the patient, resulting in the patient pitching less under the mask.
