Coronavirus 2019, or COVID-19, is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 strain of coronavirus. The most common symptoms are fever, cough and fatigue.
Detection of SARS-CoV-2 antigens, Nucleocapsid protein (proteine N)
Easy to use, Nasopharyngeal or nasal swab
EU validated (category A)
BIOSYNEX COVID-19 Ag BSS test is a rapid in vitro immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of nucleocapsid (N) protein antigen of SARS-CoV-2 in nasopharyngeal or nasal swab specimens. It is designed to assist in the rapid diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infections.
CONTENTS OF THE KIT :

25 pre-filled diluent tubes
25 dropper nipples
1 rack
1 instruction leaflet
How to interpret the results?
The test is positive when a bar appears on the “C” part as well as on the “T” part of the cassette. The test is negative if only one bar appears on the “C” part of the cassette. The test is invalid if only one bar appears on the “T” part of the test or if no bar appears.
Does the test detect all variants?
The major mutations in SARS-CoV-2 strains B.1.1.7, B.1.351, P.1, CAL.20C, B.1.617 and B.1.1.529.1, B.1.1529.2, B.1.1529.4 and B.1.1529.5 affect the SARS-CoV-2 Spike surface protein.
Compared to the wild-type N protein, there is no variation in the overlap of epitope locations of the membrane-bound and conjugated anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies.
Based on the available scientific data, our review of the literature and given that the above tests are qualitative rapid tests using monoclonal antibodies to the SARS-CoV-2 core protein from a nasopharyngeal (NP) or nasal (NS) swab, we can state that they are not impacted by the above mutations.
