Shape and Constitution
The product is intended to collect specimen sample from patient’s nasal mucosa or nasal concha for testing Virus (ex. Covid-19), Chlamydia, Mycoplasma and Ureaplasma. After collection specimens should be stored at 2~25°c and processed within 48 hours. M4RT Inactivation Medium has been designed for inactivation of potentially infectious biological pathogens ensuring safety during handling, transport and processing.
Performance
Universal Transport Medium consists of Proteose peptone, Yeast extract, Yeast extract, Dextrose, Gelatin, K2HPO4, Gentamicin, Amphotericin-B, and Potassium Phosphate. Amphotericin B and Gentamicin are incorporated in the medium to inhibit growth of competing Bacteria and Yeast. The medium is isotonic and non-toxic to mammalian host cells. The presence of sucrose acts as a cryoprotectant, which aids in the preservation of viruses and chlamydia if specimen are frozen for prolonged storage.
Method of Use
1. Take off the sterile pouch
2. Take out the swab applicator prepared and collect the specimen
3. Put the head part of the product in the transport medium and carry it to the test room(If there is breakpoint, cut the part and carry the head)
