The ‘KnifeSavers’ campaign originates from Liverpool’s major trauma centre at Aintree University Hospital and has been established in partnership with the people of the region who have experienced the effects of knife trauma firsthand.
Our Bleed Control Kits have been welcomed by the Liverpool ‘KnifeSavers’ campaign, with the intent to have a Bleed Control Kit on hand at every necessary location across the region. The ‘KnifeSavers’ campaign originates from Liverpool’s major trauma centre at Aintree University Hospital and has been established in partnership with the people of the region who have experienced the effects of knife trauma firsthand.
According to KnifeSavers.co.uk, the campaign itself comprises of two key elements – the first being an educational programme on how to control excessive bleeding on the streets, which will be delivered around the city of Liverpool, including the surrounding counties of Merseyside and Cheshire. The second is an education package, website and smartphone app, which are being created to be a real-time guide on how to control bleeding, and to act as a source of information about hemorrhage control, providing audiences with all necessary elements of the KnifeSavers programme. Collectively, this knowledge needed on how to control any form of extensive bleeding will be ingrained into the DNA of the city.
The Bleed Control Kits are to be placed in strategic locations around the region, and the knowledge on how to use them will be both contained in an instruction guide within the pack, as well as being an essential feature on the smartphone app.
