The Bovine Pericardium Patch is made with bovine pericardium previously treated with glutaraldehyde and conserved in 4% formaldehyde. This treatment gives it proper characteristics of resistance, flexibility and lack of antigenicity. The product is indicated to: Cardiovascular Surgery: closure of intercavitary defects, expansion of the outflow tract of the right ventricle, widening of the aortic ring in valvar exchanges, treatment of aorta and left ventricle aneurysms, atrial and ventricular reconstructions, Mustard surgeries, peripheral arterioplasties. Thoracic Surgery: closure of bronchial stump, closure of diaphragmatic hernias, treatment of thoracic wall defects (congenital and traumatic). General Surgery: surgical treatment of hernias and eventrations. Urologic Surgery: cytoplasties, uretheroplasties. Neurosurgery: dura mater replacement.
