Description

The DuoMAG MP-Dual Paired Pulse TMS combines two DuoMAG MP TMS stimulators to provide a fully configurable paired pulse TMS system. Delivering repeated pairs of monophasic pulses to two cortical regions over short periods has become a very popular method of exploring intra-cortical circuits in the human brain. ‘Paired Pulse’ stimulation is a method achieved by delivering two monophasic pulses in very quick succession. By pairing two DuoMAG MP stimulators through an intelligent combining module, the DuoMAG MP-Dual offers unrivalled performance and flexibility for the application of both paired pulse and twin coil stimulation. A combining module also allows for both stimulators to be split into two DuoMAG MP units. The native DuoMAG software enables the system to be used in three separate modes - Pair, where the stimulators operate as primary and secondary stimulators with one triggering the other at a defined interval either through one or two coils; Independent, where both stimulators can be operated separately of each other, again, through one or two coils, and Dual, where the output of both stimulators can be combined through a single coil to deliver a pulse equivalent of 134% of a single DuoMAG MP. The quick recharge rate of the DuoMAG capacitor allows for a maximum frequency rate of 4Hz and 1Hz stimulation at 95% stimulator output. Additionally, it is possible to define a capacitor ‘recharge delay’ for applications where ppTMS is combined with EEG recording to allow for a period of ‘clean’ EEG shortly after the delivery of the TMS pulse.
