The Digital Mammography Phantom is a smaller version of the Mammographic Accreditation Phantom and is utilized for monitoring digital mammography systems which are currently used for stereotactic biopsy and localization. It contains a 5 x 5 cm wax insert as well as simulated microcalcifications, tumor-like masses and nylon fibrils.
With the exception of the two largest fibers - microcalcification groups and masses - the simulated substances are identical to the test objects in the Mammographic Accreditation Phantom. The two aforementioned fibers are omitted. Users can use the standard base with the 8 x 8 cm acrylic adapter, which has a cutout for placement of the 5 x 5 cm wax insert.
