The distinguishing feature of the Universal is adaptability. In the standard version, this model permits 5 color analysis, but due to its modular design, the Universal can be upgraded up to 12 colors; owners of a Universal do not need to purchase a new instrument if their needs progress beyond five colors. Flexibility is also afforded by the Universal’s powerful zoom lens optics which, on one end, enables microscopic-range high-resolution, subcellular detail-oriented fluorescent analysis, while on the other end affording the flexibility to capture optimal images in the macroscopic domain, in any microtiter plate well format. Beyond being a high-end ELISPOT/FluoroSpot reader, the Universal is ideally suited to support a wide variety of microtiter plate-based assays that require analysis of colonies, foci, plaques or single cells. The instrument comes loaded with individual software suites that have been tailored specifically for such applications. Its adaptability makes the Universal ideal for R&D laboratories; however, it is equally well-suited to work in regulated environments with precise memory/recall of adjustable zoom settings and other critical imaging settings being standard features. The Universal is high-throughput capable and can handle up to 400 plates per run when equipped with our automated plate loader.
