Description

This MYO (Myoglobin) Fast Quantitative TEST Kit is a blood test to measure the amount of MYO in multiple samples like whole blood, serum and plasma on LYOFIA® platform developed by VACURE Biotech. It's for professional use only. Summary MYO (Myoglobin) is an iron- and oxygen-binding protein found in the cardiac and skeletal muscle , smooth muscle tissue of vertebrates in general and in almost all mammals. Its main function is to supply oxygen to the cells in muscles (myocytes) with high affinity for oxygen. In humans, myoglobin is only found in the bloodstream after muscle injury such as from accidents that result in muscle trauma, or muscular dystrophy and AMI occurs. Its molecular structure is similar to hemoglobin, can reversibly combine with oxygen, and has the function of transporting and storing oxygen in muscle cells. Why Test MYO? When the heart or skeletal muscles experience an injury, the muscle cells release myoglobin rapidly from myocardial cells into the blood, causing a rapid increase in myoglobin concentration in the blood, hence the MYO (Myoglobin) Fast Quantitative TEST Kit can detect muscle damage. Clinically,Myoglobin is a sensitive marker for muscle injury, making it a potential marker for heart attack in patients with chest pain. Although myoglobin measured in blood may show low specificity for heart muscle injury of acute myocardial infarction (AMI),the negative result of the test can exclude AMI,which is of great value in clinical. For positive result,MYO is the earliest released biomarkers when AMI occurs, and often combo tested with CK-MB, cardiac troponin I (hs-cTnI), ECG, and clinical signs to make the diagnosis of AMI.
