The Fluorescent Immunoassay TT3 POCT kit is applicable to the in vitro quantitative detection on the content of total thyroxine (TT3) in human whole blood, serum or plasma samples and is mainly used for evaluating thyroid function. This kit only provides test result of total triiodothyronine (TT3).
Summary
Triiodothyronine is also known as T3. In blood circulation, 99.7% of T3 binds with binding protein. What exerts physiological activity is free T3 (FT3). Total triiodothyronine (TT3) refers to the sum of free T3 and conjugated T3 in serum or plasma. It affects almost each physiological process of human body, including growth, development, metabolism, body temperature and heart rate. About 20% of triiodothyronine is directly secreted by the thyroid into blood. Remaining 80% is generated through conversion of thyroxine by organs such as liver and kidney. Thyroid hormones play an important role in regulating body’s metabolic rate, cardiac and digestive function, muscle control, brain development and bone maintenance. T3 can increase basal metabolic rate and thus increase oxygen and energy consumption of the body. Basal metabolic rate refers to the minimum calories needed for maintaining life at rest. T3 acts on most tissues in body. A few exceptions include spleen and testis. This fluorescent immunoassay TT3 POCT kit provides a reliable indicator for the diagnosis and curative effect observation of hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism.
