Shape and size variety allows for effective implant selection. Pre-shaped plates do not need to adhere exactly to the bone, especially when locking screw are used for implantation. Banding the plates may damage their threaded holes. However, if the plate needs to be bent to fit the bone better, bear in mind:
the plate can be bent only between the locking holes and not more than 20°-25°;
the plate should not be bent back and forth;
locking screws should be inserted in the bending area before the process is started – thus decreases the threaded holes deformation.
