Our new Thermal Gradient Test demonstrates place preference and temperature comfort in rodents. A continuous temperature gradient, 15 to 55C is established over a 125cm long base plate. The animal is free to move along this length. After a period of exploration and acclimation, a clear temperature preference is defined.
The accompanying software, coupled to a video camera, displays time spent in each temperature zone and overall distance travelled for each animal tested. The data and video images are recorded in real time and the user is able to replay the filesto analyze and review.
