Small size and low power SpO2 technology enables mobile monitoring applications
The Nellcor™ low power pulse oximetry printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) is exceptionally small and delivers trusted Nellcor™ pulse oximetry technology. It may be used for telemetry, wearable, and portable monitoring applications, as well as with traditional pulse oximetry monitoring platforms.
The board size has been reduced by more than half from earlier Nellcor™ pulse oximetry PCBA designs and power consumption has been reduced to sub-45 milliwatts for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The small size and low power means design flexibility for manufacturing new lightweight, mobile and miniaturized medical and mHealth devices.
Nellcor™ pulse oximetry with OxiMax™ technology has SpO2 accuracy of ±2% in the standard range of 70% to 100% saturation and LoSat™ SpO2 accuracy of ±3% in the range of 60% to 80% saturation, enabling clinicians to accurately assess patients’ oxygen saturation.
Small size. Low power. Big impact.
Low power engineering with three highly efficient power modes help improve battery life, and compact design may help manufacturers lower production costs. And that can have a big impact on helping to make pulse oximetry monitoring more attainable for hospitals worldwide.
Three power modes:
Normal Mode – designed to operate in an energy efficient manner, with an average power consumption of 45mW or less for most monitoring conditions
High Efficiency Mode – limits the maximum power consumption to less than 50mV for all monitoring conditions
Legacy Mode – average of 60-65mW for most monitoring conditions
