As a new therapeutic means, Irreversible Electroporation Ablation(IRE) has shown great application prospects in the treatment of tumors. In recent years, countries have been actively conducting relevant research and clinical applications.
Intended use
The Irreversible Electroporation Ablation (IRE) Generator is indicated for the surgical
ablation of soft tissues.
The electric pulses selectively target the tumor cells and spare surrounding blood vessels, nerves, and other critical structures.
This selective cell destruction is a significant advantage of IRE, as it helps preserve the functionality of nearby organs and tissues.
The IRE is a non-thermal ablation technique. Unlike other methods like radiofrequency ablation (RFA) or microwave ablation, IRE does not rely on heat to destroy tumor cells. Instead, it uses electrical pulses to induce irreversible electroporation, which leads to cell death. So it is unaffected by the heat sink effect while minimizing the potential for thermal damage to surrounding tissues.
