Recognizing a chlamydia infection
Chlamydia trachomatis is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases (STD) worldwide. There is no requirement to report this STD in Germany, and the number of new infections is therefore only an approximation. The disease is generally asymptomatic. The bacteria is transmitted through unprotected sexual intercourse.1 Women who change sexual partners often are thus at increased risk of contracting the disease. Heavy smoking or malnutrition may also increase the risk of infection.
The chlamydia quick test by cyclotest provides easy, fast, and reliable detection of the bacteria. The test was designed for self-application at home.
