4-Channel high throughput MyoDYNAMIC Muscle Strip System with the capacity to perform isometric, eccentric, and concentric muscle contraction studies under a range of conditions. The MyoDynamics Muscle Strip System - 840MD represents a state-of-the-art 4-channel muscle strip system for intact muscle or muscle strips of up to 30 mm in length. The easy-to-use system allows the muscle physiologist to perform isometric, eccentric, and concentric contractions protocols performed by the build-in motors in a precise manner under a range of conditions, including electric field stimulation. The system allows for four separate baths to run simultaneously and independently from each other. The system gives the flexibility to program each bath individually and initiate ad stop protocols independently from the other baths. ​ Each muscle bath unit, made of aluminum, features a stainless steel chamber. The tissue mounting supports are positioned in the chamber, with one side attached to the force transducer and the other to a combination manual positioner screw and a motorized micropositioner. The manual positioner allows the accurate preload/base tension setting, while the motorized micropositioner permits the user to stretch (Eccentric)/relax (Concentric) the muscle according to user-defined settings. The sensitive force transducers provide measurements of contractile forces. Mounted tissue can be stretched and relaxed, defined by the user with a minimum distance of 10µm up to 11mm and a maximum speed of 11mm/sec.
