The interesting research activity that Mauro Carratelli has been doing in the last 20 years led to the development of a series of tests in the area of oxidative stress evaluation, now included in Panel Carratelli. Panel Carratelli is the integrated analytical approach that allows the global assessment of oxidative stress by the use of 13 tests that complete each other. These tests can be divided in two groups, one for the evaluation of the pro-oxidant status and the other for the antioxidant status, and both can be applied to Human, Veterinary and Agri-food sector.
Useful to: provide an indication on general wellness of the organism, identify risks and predisposition to oxidative damage in subjects that are exposed to risk factors or suffering from disease or undergoing treatments.
What evaluates: the free alcohoxil and hydroperoxyl radicals derived from hydroperoxides present in the sample. The acronym d-ROMs stands for derivates of Reactive Oxigen Metabolites.
Matrix: Serum or Heparinized plasma fresh or frozen Sector of application: Human and Veterinary
Sector of application: Human and Veterinary
IVD/FRUO: In vitro diagnostics
Instrumentation: FREE Systems, manual photometers, multiple analysers, microplate readers
Some tests are classified for diagnostic use (IVD) and others for research use only (FRUO).
While all the tests of the Panel can be used on standard photometers, some of them can be applied on microplate readers or automatic analysers. As an alternative it's possible to run the assays with the dedicated FREE systems (FREE Carpe Diem and FREE DUO).
