EMPOWR Acetabular® is DJO’s modern, premium, intelligently designed acetabular system that features advanced fixation technologies and accepts both vitamin E polyethylene bearing and a dual mobility metal liner. All EMPOWR Acetabular cups have DJO Surgical’s Proprietary Titanium Porous Coating, P, which is the first porous coating in the world wherein the non-spherical bead itself is also porous. These two distinct pore sizes aid in both immediate and long-term fixation.The highly porous coating has been demonstrated to show disappearance of zone 2 radiolucent lines at one year follow up signifying osseointegration. Utilizing anthropometric data & CT based insights on average pelvic anatomy, EMPOWR cup is designed to accommodate differences in natural hip anatomy of patients.8 This system features a thin cup which allows for larger femoral head options, without compromising on polyethylene thickness, designed to aid in enhanced joint stability and greater range of motion.3 It is also the first and only major acetabular system to meet new 2014 version of impingement test4, which is an aggressive multi-axis fatigue AND wear test. EMPOWR Acetabular™ System is versatile and comprehensive, offering a number of shell options, poly bearing, and femoral heads. The shells include solid back, cluster, as well as revision multi-hole options. The system features HXe+ polyethylene in neutral, 10° hooded, +4mm offset, and +4 10° face-changing liners. Vitamin E is blended right into the resin, assuring complete homogeneous distribution.
