Herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV2) is a widespread herpes virus, usually sexually transmitted and responsible for genital herpes. Latent reactivation of HSV2 after solid organ or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is frequent and generates disseminated mucocutaneous infections. Early HSV2 diagnosis and viral load monitoring, by molecular methods, is important for patient management in order to initiate appropriate anti-viral treatment.
HSV2 ELITe MGB® Kit is a real-time PCR assay designed for the detection and quantification of type 2 herpes simplex virus DNA. The assay is CE-IVD validated on a large range of sample types, in combination with ELITe InGenius®, a fully automated sample-to-result solution.
