AVSU and valve cabinets are demanded on an MGPS as per most international standards. Their purpose is to allow user access in case of emergency. They are always equipped with a shut-off valve to isolate several wards or a full building. Alarm panels are most of the time located close to AVSU, hence it is possible to include within the AVSU pressure monitoring devices such as pressure switches, pressure sensors or pressure gauges.
