Canine skin disorders vary from acute, self-limiting problems to chronic or long-lasting problems requiring life-time treatment. The condition of canine skin and coat is also an important indicator of its general health, therefore preventive testing of canine skin disease is essential for canine health care. Recently, real-time PCR is being used for canine skin disease detection, enabling the simultaneous detection of all significant viral targets.
