The integration of a refrigerated centrifuge within the automated sample preparation process using the MultiPurposeSampler MPS.
Description
The Refrigerated Centrifuge option enables the integration of a refrigerated centrifuge manufactured by Sigma Laboratory Centrifuges within the automated sample preparation process using the MultiPurposeSampler MPS. The refrigerated centrifuge is capable of centrifuging and cooling up to 20 samples at the same time. The Refrigerated Centrifuge option is suitable for phase separation performed as part of a liquid-liquid or solid-liquid extraction. It is available for vials of different sizes and achieves accelerations of up to 5000g. The centrifuge is characterized by its large capacity and integrated cooling device. The system is controlled using the MAESTRO software. Within the software itself, all preparation steps can be prepped ahead to save time.
Functional principle of the Refrigerated Centrifuge option
The centrifuge stands on a laboratory bench below the MPS. The MPS transports samples in closed vials into the centrifuge. In the centrifuge, the samples are centrifuged and simultaneously cooled, if needed. The temperature and speed involved can be set individually. Once centrifugation has been performed, the MPS removes the vials. The phase that is of interest can either be transferred into a new vial and processed further or injected immediately. The centrifugation step can be incorporated at any point within the automated sample preparation process using the MPS.
