The Cooled Agitator is an orbital shaker for the MultiPurposeSampler MPS. It enables up to 6 samples to be tempered and shaken at the same time. As it is fitted with a cooling device, the Cooled Agitator also reaches temperatures below room temperature. The system is controlled using the MAESTRO software. Within the software itself, all preparation steps can be prepped ahead to save time. The shaking step is a fixed component of a headspace or SPME run. You can also use the shaking step as part of the automated sample preparation process, however. Functional principle of the Cooled Agitator The MPS transports the samples into the Cooled Agitator, where they are heated or cooled and shaken. Heating or cooling and shaking are performed in a time-controlled manner. The temperature and speed involved can be set individually. The Cooled Agitator is sealed using a cap. If necessary, the MPS can insert a needle through the openings in the cap and into the vial. The Cooled Agitator can be used with 2-mL, 4-mL, 10-mL and 20-mL vials.
