The automation of dispersive solid phase extraction immediately before injection using the MultiPurposeSampler MPS.
Description
The DPX option enables the automation of dispersive solid phase extraction immediately before injection using the MultiPurposeSampler MPS. Using the DPX option, you can enrich and purify analytes from a sample. A full, automated solid phase extraction on a miniaturized scale in a single-use pipette tip can be performed using only small quantities of sample. The system is controlled using the MAESTRO software. Within the software itself, all sample preparation steps can be prepped ahead to save time.
Functional principle of the DPX option
The DPX option offers different potential applications, clean-up and enrichment. Once cleaned or enriched, the sample is collected in a clean open vial and can be injected from there. In both cases, patented pipette tips are filled with an adsorbent in powder form. The samples are located in special test tubes. The MPS first draws up the sample, followed by air, into the pipette tip. The sample becomes fully mixed with the adsorbent and the analytes are extracted highly efficiently. If needed, the MPS injects various solvents into the pipette tip in order to perform subsequent steps. A new pipette tip is used for each new sample. The DPX steps can be incorporated within the automated sample preparation process using the MPS immediately before injection.
