Intended Use
Disposable Virus Sampling Tube is intended for the collection and transport of clinical specimens containing viruses from the collection site to the testing laboratory. The specimens collected and transported in Disposable Virus Sample Tube can be used for viral culture or other means of viral detection.
For in vitro diagnostic use.
For professional use.
Summary and Principles
Rapid detection of viral infection is critical for clinical management and infection control. In order to perform testing, most molecular or antigen assays for measuring viral nucleic acids or antigens require obtaining a swab specimen, stabilizing and transporting of that specimen in a sampling tube from the collection site to testing sites. The preservation solution in the Disposable Virus Sampling Tube contains antibiotic and antifungal in Hanks solution to prevent bacterial and fungal contamination and growth. Stabilizer is also added to facility the preservation of viruses.
