It is designed for surgical correction of flat foot or rearfoot valgus in children. This talus screw has proved particularly effective in that the ample area of contact and support of its base on the floor and walls of the sinustarsi enable it to stabilize the calcaneus by distributing the pressure loads over a wider area, thus reducing to a minimum the risk of the talus screw becoming mobile or penetrating the calcaneus.
