Description

Saliva has remarkable antioxidant properties that are instrumental in many of its protective functions. MINISAT is a dedicated photometer for monitoring the antioxidant power of saliva. Impaired antioxidant capacity is a risk factor mainly for inflammatory diseases such as periodontitis. Exposure to physical (e.g. heat, cold, humidity…), chemical (e.g. acidity, cigarette smoke, alcohol…) and biological agents (e.g. bacteria, inflammatory processes), as well as reduced availability of salivary and tissue antioxidants (e.g. glands and mucous membranes), can alter the natural redox balance of the oral cavity and generate a condition of local oxidative stress. This capacity can be easily detected with the MINISAT system. The world’s first instrument to measure the antioxidant potential of saliva in one minute in a simple and reliable way. MINISAT is easy to use and, by means of the SAT test , provides values for the antioxidant capacity of saliva.
