Healgen Scientific's Urinalysis Strips are in vitro diagnostic tests that utilize a series of visual, semi-quantitative reagent pads to analyze urine properties. Results aid in detecting or monitoring conditions indicating possible diabetes, metabolic abnormalities, liver diseases, kidney function, and urinary tract infections. Test results can be used along with other diagnostic information to rule out certain disease states and to determine if microscopic analysis is needed.
This test is for professional use only.
Leukocytes
The presence of Leukocytes, also known as white blood cells, is indicative of immune response within the urinary tract, bladder or kidney.
Urobilinogen
Normal urine contains urobilinogen, a product of red blood cell degradation. Trace amounts or complete absence may indicate liver diseases such as hepatitis or cirrhosis.
pH
Urine pH abnormalities can infer various conditions. Acidic urine can suggest ketoacidosis, common among diabetics. Basic urine may suggest kidney stones and/or UTIs
Specific Gravity
Specific gravity, or concentration, shows how concentrated particles are in your urine. A higher than normal concentration often is a result of not drinking enough fluids.
Ketone
Diabetic ketoacidosis is a serious complication of diabetes that occurs when
your body produces high levels of blood acids called ketones. The condition develops
when your body can't produce enough insulin.
Glucose
Glucose is normally not present in urine. When glucose is present, the condition is called glucosuria. This often happens if there is abnormally high level of glucose present in the blood.
