PRODUCT NAME Specimen Collection Medium CAT.NO. IA-1, IA-2, IA-3 IA-1:1mL/tube; IA-2:2mL/tube; IA-3: 3mL/tube INTENDED USE Hecin Specimen Collection Medium (SCM) is designed to rapidly inactivate pathogen in specimen, including swabs, and cultured samples. The pathogen in the SCM can be completely decomposed to release nucleic acid, then the released nucleic acid can be extracted for nucleic acid testing. PRINCIPLE Hecin Specimen Collection Medium contains guanidine salt and other ingredients. Viruses (or other pathogens) in oropharyngeal swabs, nasopharyngeal swabs and other samples can be lysed to release nucleic acids in the medium. Meanwhile, the unique composition of SCM can also protect released RNA and DNA from degradation by RNases and DNases. The samples in this medium can be used for subsequent nucleic acid extraction for molecular testing.
