First triple system packaging rectangular, reusable and resistant to internal pressure of 95 kPa for transporting biological materials of category B in the world.
MEDIBOX: What is it?
MEDIBOX sistema de triple embalaje
Medibox is the world’s first reusable rectangular triple packaging system for the transportation of Category B Biological Substances (UN 3373), conforming to the P650 ADR/RID/IMDG/ATA/ICAO 650 packing instruction.
The Packaging System is made up of:
-A secondary rectangular packaging that must be capable of withstanding, without leakage, an internal pressure of 95 kPa and remain leak-free;
-A rigid exterior.
MEDIBOX properties make possible to maintain the health workflow throughout the pre-analytical stage, enabling the use of any leakproof primary receptacle.
The production process has been evaluated according to ISO 9001:2008 quality system by TÜV RHEINLAND Iberica Inspection, Certification & Testing S. A. and the product has been tested and certified by AIDIMA, an accredited laboratory.
On the transportation of diagnostic specimens, classified as Category B Biological Substances (UN 3373), three different types of receptacles can be named:
1. Leak-proof primary receptacles:
They contain the specimens and must be leakproof (e.g., blood tubes, Petri dishes, urine vials, etc.).
2. Secondary packaging:
The secondary packaging contains and protects any leakproof primary receptacle.
Thanks to its rectangular shape, a wide range of racks can be put together with primary receptacles without any subsequent adjustment, making easier the workflow and ensuring biosecurity.
