HUBI FSH is an in-vitro diagnostic test based on immunochromatography. The test is required to be applied to HUBI QUAN pro, an analyzer designed for quantitative détermination of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) in human blood specimens. Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) is a glycoprotein hormone found in humans and other animais. It is synthesized and secreted by gonadotrophs of the anterior pituitary gland, and regulates the development, growth, pubertal maturation, and reproductive processes of the body. In maie, FSH enhances the production of androgen-binding protein by the Sertoli cells of the testes by binding to FSH receptors on their basolateral membranes, and is critical for the initiation of spermatogenesis. FSH’s structure is similar to that of the other glycoprotein hormones, Luteinizing Hormone (LH), Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH), and human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG). Elevated levels of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) are associated to the symptoms and stages of menopause.
