Principle
Feline coronavirus usually presents with intestinal symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea. In more severe cases, dehydration may also occur. Coronaviruses mainly harm kittens two to three months old. They are transmitted through the digestive tract and have a low mortality rate. Generally, they can be cured through treatment.
Feline Panleukopenia
When kittens are infected, they develop fever, reduced appetite, and poor energy, followed by frequent vomiting and severe dehydration. Some cats may also have abdominal pain and loose bowels, and even bloody stools that resemble tomato juice. Viral enteritis can kill up to 90% of unvaccinated kittens. If a pregnant female cat is infected with cat plague, it will cause stillbirth, abortion, and newborn kittens will also appear neurological symptoms.
The onset of cat plague is rapid and the symptoms are obvious, usually presenting two extremes.
