Epidemiology
Hepatitis E virus (HEV) is an RNA virus that causes global health problems. It has a wide host range and has the property of crossing interspecies barriers. It is one of the most important zoonotic pathogens and cause great harm to human and animal. HEV is mainly transmitted through fecal-oral transmission, and can also be transmitted vertically through embryos or blood. Among them, in the fecal-oral transmission route, HEV-contaminated water and food spread widely, and the risk of HEV infection in humans and animals is high[1-2].
