This kit is used to qualitatively detect Zika virus nucleic acid in serum samples of patients suspected of Zika virus infection in vitro, and provide an auxiliary means for the diagnosis of patients with Zika virus disease. The test results are for clinical reference only, and the final diagnosis should be comprehensively considered in combination with other clinical indicators. The use should comply with the "Zika Virus Disease Prevention and Control Program (First Edition)" issued by the National Health and Family Planning Commission and relevant laboratory testing requirements.
Zika virus belongs to the genus Flaviviridae, is a single-stranded positive-stranded RNA virus[1] with a diameter of 40-70nm. It has an envelope, contains 10794 nucleotides, and encodes 3419 amino acids[2]. According to the genotype, it is divided into African type and Asian type. Zika virus disease is a self-limiting acute infectious disease caused by the Zika virus, which is mainly transmitted through the bite of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes[3]. The clinical features are mainly fever, rash, arthralgia or conjunctivitis, and it is rarely fatal[4]. According to the World Health Organization, neonatal microcephaly and Guillain-Barre syndrome (Guillain-Barré syndrome) may be associated with Zika virus infection.
