This kit is intended for the in vitro qualitative detection of enterovirus 71 (EV71) nucleic acid in oropharyngeal swabs and herpes fluid samples of patients with hand-foot-mouth disease.
Epidemiology
Hand-foot-mouth disease is an infectious disease caused by enteroviruses (EV). Currently, 108 kinds of serotypes of enteroviruses have been found, which are divided into four groups: A, B, C and D. Among them, enterovirus EV71 and CoxA16 are the main pathogens. The disease mostly occurs in children under 5 years old, and can cause herpes on the hands, feet, mouth and other parts. A small number of children will develop complications such as myocarditis, pulmonary edema, and aseptic meningoencephalitis.
