If there are plenty of pathogenic antigens existing in the samples, the antigens can bind to the monoclonal antibodies coated on the colloidal-gold pad to form the antibody-antigen compounds. Then the compounds bind to another monoclonal antibodies to form the "antibody-antigen-antibody" compounds when migrating upward to the test line (T-line) due to capillary effect, and gradually agglutinate into a visible detection line. Excess colloidal gold antibodies continue to migrate to the quality control line (C-line) and are captured by the secondary antibody to form into a visible C-line.
