This product uses fluorescence immunochromatography to quantitatively detect the content of cCortisol in dog serum/plasma. Basic principle: T and C lines are marked on the nitrocellulose membrane, the T line is coated with cCortisol antigen a, and the binding pad is sprayed with a fluorescent nanomaterial labeled antibody b that can specifically recognize cCortisol. The cCortisol in the sample is first labeled with the nanomaterial. The antibody b binds to form a complex, and then chromatographs upward. The complex competes with T-line antigen a and cannot be captured; On the contrary, when there is no cCortisol in the sample, antibody b binds to antigen a. When the excitation light is irradiated, the nano material emits a fluorescent signal, and the strength of the signal is inversely proportional to the concentration of cCortisol in the sample.
Detailed
【Test Purpose】 Canine Cortisol (cCortisol) is a steroid hormone produced by the canine adrenal cortex. Cortisol helps maintain a constant blood sugar level, reduces inflammation and helps the body manage stress. While various conditions caused by abnormally high levels of the cortisol are called Cushing syndrome (CS), both dogs and cats can suffer from CS, which is more common in dogs than in cats. Dogs of middleand old age (about 7 to 12 years old) are most likely to develop the disease. Thedisease develops slowly and early symptoms are not easy to detect. CS can be clinically diagnosed by adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) stimulation test anddexam ethasone suppression test, and its different types: adrenocortical tumors hyperadr enocorticism(ATH)and pituitary-dependent hyperadrenocorticism(PDH).
