When comfortably seated, getting up can be complicated, and someone is not always there to help. With KOMPAÏ, you simply call the robot over, get up, and go!
Our team designed KOMPAÏ using patient and care-provider focus groups. The goal was to bring both cognitive and physical support, in a way that is friendly, empathetic, and reassuring, though without the intension of replacing the unique presence of human assistance.
Designed in 2009, the first version of KOMPAÏ was used to generate dozens of robots that were used to conduct proofs of concept over 1,000+ days of experimentations with different users.
