The Material Hatch is primarily used to pass material out of or into the production areas as quickly as possible. It is also suitable for delivering prototypes or random samples for quality control without the need for costly and time-consuming passage of personnel through the airlocks. It has two doors with a glass cut-out that are electrically locked together.
