The latex particles (diameter ≥200nm) coated with anti-human Calprotectin (CP) antibodies are agglutinated when they react with feces samples containing human calprotectin. The latex particles agglutination is proportional to the concentration of the Calprotectin in the sample and can be measured by turbidimetry.
Calprotectin Turbidimetric is a latex turbidimetric assay only for the quantitative detection of Calprotectin in human solid stool samples. This assay is simple, widely applicable and test results are obtained in a very short time.
The intended use of the test is exclusively to differentiate IBD patients with inflammation from IBD patients without inflammation and from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
